Will, Pat and Tony met in college at the University of Texas. They were all enrolled in the advanced Home Economics degree program. That happens to be the preeminent Home Ec. program in the country, by the way. Howie and Darwin were friends of Tony's from High School. One day, Will, Pat and Tony were jamming in one of the learning kitchen labs when Tony had the brilliant idea of contacting his old High School mates in the attempt to form what we all know today as Pushmonkey. The name Pushmonkey is a term used in cooking French pastries. The definition of Pushmonkey has long been forgotten since none of them finished their degree plan and school can be likened to a casserole long ago eaten, pan washed and stored in the cupboard.

I don't like the category "nu-metal". I don't think that encapsulates what the band is all about. Without sounding too arrogant, I think we are one of the very few bands out there that can do just about any type of rock. We are fundamentally Rock, but we run the full range from hard and heavy to sweet and melodic.
