The ultimate male bonding for me is having a band and sharing this amazing experience with these other guys. That's male bonding in an extreme way. But maybe "male bonding" is another of those phrases that gets a little overused, like "icon."

I was smoking tons of crack and heroin off tinfoil at the time. Not smart for a singer, right? My doctor said I shouldn't speak for a week. Then all these Limey journalists come over to interview me when I was recording, and I didn't want to disappoint 'em, but I figured I should tell the truth about why I couldn't talk properly. And then I came off like some sort of asshole trying to glorify my drug use. I was angry, but I learned something from it. I like getting high--it's been an important part of my life and I would never sacrifice my drug experiences--but I don't want kids to listen to me and say, "Oh wow, drugs are cool." I would never endorse them for anyone else.
