I don't write with the band normally. I write alone and from the point of view of writing a song that I can stand up and play alone - I've been doing solo concerts for twenty years and have to say that playing live and solo influenced my music and words profoundly. Because theres nowhere to run and no one to hide behind. You know your shit and you've thought it through or you don't. Basically, thats how i found out how much i didn't know.
