I always did both electric and acoustic. I did a sort of complete acoustic tour in 1990 and recently, I thought that it would be good to do it again as acoustic work is a different sort of discipline. It keeps you fresh and I’ve been doing that sort of thing all the time. I came to the conclusion that I’d had enough of playing the same numbers all of the time, so it seemed like a good idea to go back to roots.

I made a silly mistake of going back to the beginning and I realised that you can’t go back and you shouldn’t go back. Lots of bands are now doing it and going back to their original line-ups, but it doesn’t work.
