The band formed in 1996 by Tim Kasher (vocalist) and Matt Macguin (guitarist) and Tim Schnase and they played a guy named Steve Petersen for the first two records and then band broke up for a year. Then we started again with me playing guitar and Steve moved to the southern United States and formed a new group. Greta joined us in 2001 one year after me. Then we started writing The Ugly Organ.
I wrote three of the songs on The Ugly Organ: Staying Alive, Harold Frankenstein, and Harold Wheatherband. Tim wrote all the other songs, so I am kind of the co-writer.
No, I think it's a good thing that the other writers in the band try new things because the writing is the most important part of it all.
